Our Story

A small bakery and kitchen on Main Street.

For years, Mason's Apron has been the place locals stop in for a coffee, where travellers break the journey on the N3, and where the cake counter has caused more than a few "I shouldn't, but I will" moments.

How we started

Built on the basics, done well.

Mason's Apron grew out of a simple idea: bake honest bread, cook the food you'd want yourself, treat people the way you'd want to be treated. No frills. No big claims.

Open since 2003, it's a small family-run team on Virginia's Main Street, with a counter full of fresh bakes by 9am, a kitchen turning out hot lunches by midday, and the same friendly faces serving regulars who've been calling in for years.

We supply locally too. Other cafés, shops and event organisers know they can ring us for a tray of scones or a custom cake and it'll be done properly.

What we believe in

Three things, always.

Make it ourselves

Bread, scones, cakes, soups, sauces. If we're serving it, we made it. That's not a marketing line, that's how we run the kitchen.

Treat people right

The team here will look you in the eye, remember your usual, and find the brightest seat for the kids. We've been told it's why people come back.

No fancy claims. No silly prices. Real food, fresh today, served with a smile, in a town we care about.

We're a small crew. The same people you see behind the counter are the ones baking through the morning and answering the phone for catering orders. There's no head office. No call centre. Just us.
